Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: Fortune Pkwy, #1, #3, Glide Wax: CH7, Grip Wax:

A quick skate ski up the Fortune Pkwy to Ridge, out to the Champlain Lookout, then back down Burma. There was fresh grooming everywhere. The upper part of the FP was still pretty hard- it could use a bit more crushing. In contrast, Ridge and Burma had been thoroughly tilled, and were delightful. It was a blast descending Burma (for the first time this year) just as the sun set. Everything on Burma was completely controllable, including the final descent to the parkway. There was a good level skate lane and a good classic track. The excellent conditions should hold for tomorrow morning even if there is no grooming. I recommend waxing frequently given the tired, old snow we now have. My skis were running quite slowly, probably due to a light coating of tree sap and other crud picked up recently. I should have re-waxed!
