Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: Fortune Pkwy, Champlain Pkwy, #1, #1B, #2 (blue), #3, #9, Glide Wax: Blue, Grip Wax:

Decided to take advantage of the spring weather and get another ski in after a beautiful weekend on the trails. Managed to squeeze my way into P10 which was almost full at lunchtime and set off. The primary trails looked to have been freshly groomed after the weekend crowds and I had easy skiing all day. After climbing to Champlain lookout I skied the single digit trails today (1,9,2,1B,3). No particular reason it just sort of worked out that way. Tried to think if it would be possible to ski the prime number trails but I'll have to give that some research... perhaps if I consider the parkways as trail "0"... but I digress. Despite the warm sun the tracks held firm and fast. Would have been a good day for some warm bench sitting but it felt too early for spring just yet. Burma had not been regroomed this morning but it was still in pretty good shape despite the weekend crowds working it in. Perhaps the classic track was a little worn down in spots but overall not too bad. The final chute down to the parkway had one icy spot but it wasn't too difficult to ski around so no big problems there. All in all a very nice "springlike" day on the trails.
