Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: Fortune Pkwy, North Loop, #1 Penguin Climb, #1, #13, Glide Wax: Vauhti blue, Grip Wax:

Beautiful warm evening for a ski. Ever so light snow falling as I skated along which only seemed to act as a lubricant to the already fast conditions. Skated a nice loop of the Doldrums, up Fortune to gossip and then down Ridge to Penguin and added the bonus loop of 1 black and the 13 back to P8. Came across fresh untouched corduroy as I got to P10 and enjoyed it up for the rest of the night. Met the groomer at Gossip corner(headed up to Huron) so I guess they were out setting the track in the warmer evening before the mercury dropped overnight to firm up the track. Regardless things were pretty good for those of us that often ski at night. I also heard the roar of snowmobiles on the Parkway near Black lake as I skied along Ridge which I assume was the conservation officers out keeping tabs on the evening skiers. The descent down Penguin was so nice that I continued on down the elevator shaft that is 1 black into Chelsea. It. was. awesome!!! Perfect corduroy and lightening quick. I might go so far as to say that single drop was worth the price of my season pass alone. Too much fun.

So the weekend is shaping up to be spectacular. Could I ask someone to hold a parking space for me?
