Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: #1, #30, #4, #14, Glide Wax: , Grip Wax:

Superb track-setting like Ron mentioned in his report, started out from P7=>#30=>#1 to Shilly Shally=>back on #1=>Fortune parkway=>right turn on #11=> behind Keogan chalet=>back on #1=>#14=>#4=>#1=>#30=>P7.

My short detour on #11 was a test run on backcountry trail reporting on the website. Demsis reports backcountry trails as not recommended, so decided to check it out for myself. The trail was a little crusty on the sides, the track itself was fast with a very light coating of ice in certain spots. I suspect with backcountry skis the trail would be doable, otherwise I would rate the trail as Fair only because the lack of traffic.

I agree Ron the snow accumulation report on the website was useful and also they use to rate the conditions of the trails Recommended, Fair and Not Recommended, now we are down to 2 choices its either Recommended or not recommended nothing in between. The NO information Icon I guess the third choice tells me nothing relevant.

Its looking like an Excellent weekend of skiing!!!!!!!!!!
