Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: #7, Glide Wax: , Grip Wax:

A late excursion in the last hour before sunset from the MacKenzie-King Estate down trail 7 to the Champlain Parkway and back. The trail had been groomed and track set that morning. Large, wet snowflakes were falling as we skied, giving a little stickiness or resistance to the uphill. Snow ploughing downhill was soft and slow with a slight crunchiness of ice underneath.

On the way back we met a couple walking in the middle of the track and politely told them it wasn't allowed. They might have just taken a wrong turning from the snow shoe trail. We didn't stay to find out!

It was very beautiful in the fading light with the snow falling and the ice still adhering to the trees.
